MacBook Pro 15" battery replacement
How do I know if my MacBook battery needs replacing?
Apple menu → System Settings → Battery, then the “i” button next to Battery Health. If macOS shows “Service Recommended”, if battery life has dropped sharply or if your MacBook shuts down unexpectedly, it is time to replace it. The diagnosis is free.
My battery is swollen: what should I do?
A swollen battery should be replaced quickly: it can deform the casing and damage the trackpad or keyboard. Stop charging the computer and bring it to our workshop. A swollen battery must not be shipped by mail.
Do you offer genuine Apple batteries?
Not at the moment. We install new compatible batteries, with a 6 months warranty.
Which MacBook Pro 15" models do you repair?
All of them: Intel 2019 (A1990), Intel 2018 (A1990), Intel 2017 (A1707), Intel 2016 (A1707) and Intel 2015 (A1398).
Can I mail my MacBook from outside Montreal?
Yes. Our Purolator mail-in service covers all of Canada: Toronto, Ottawa, Mississauga, Hamilton, London, Kingston, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Halifax, Quebec City and every other city. Your shipping label is emailed to you after booking. Exception: a swollen battery must be brought to our workshop.
How long does the repair take?
4 hours from the moment we receive your MacBook. For a mail-in repair, add the Purolator shipping time, which depends on your city.
Is my MacBook insured during shipping?
Yes, your computer is insured for its value, both ways, with tracking and signature on delivery.
Will my data be kept?
Replacing the battery does not touch the storage: your data stays intact. We still recommend a backup before any repair.
